Custom Spa Pools Sydney
FreeStyle Pools is an extremely professional team of custom spa builders that serve Sydney homeowners.
We can design and construct poured concrete spas as part of a new concrete swimming pool. Alternatively, we can create a standalone retreat, with seating, jets, heating and finishes planned around your space and lifestyle.

Custom Concrete Spas Built by Sydney Pool Builders
We build custom concrete spas on site, rather than installing a pre-made acrylic tub. This lets us tailor the structure, size, seating, and features to your outdoor space and the people who will use it.
As a family-owned pool builder, we can manage the entire process alongside a new concrete pool. This creates a consistent design and eliminates the need to coordinate with separate pool and spa companies.
If a spa pool isn’t what you fancy, you can explore the other exceptional quality swimming pools we build across Sydneys north, Sydneys west and the Northern Beaches, and Inner west of Sydney. They include plunge pools family pools, and lap pools.
Integrated Spas and Standalone Spas
The first decision you'll need to make in the spa construction process is whether the spa will connect to a swimming pool or stand alone.
A Spa Built Into Your Pool
An integrated spa is designed and poured to be part of the pool structure. It can sit flush with the waterline or rise above the main pool with a spill-over edge. Building both at the same time lets you plan the plumbing, equipment, and construction work together. While the pool and spa may share some plumbing, separate heating and controls allow the spa to reach a higher temperature. Combining them in one pool project is generally a more economical option than adding a concrete spa later.
A Freestanding Concrete Spa
A standalone spa suits homes without a swimming pool or yards that don't have enough room for one. It offers a compact place for relaxation without taking over the backyard. The spa will need its own filtration, sanitation and heating equipment. Moreover, its position should also allow room for access, drainage, paving and safe movement around the water.
Spa Size, Seating and Jets
Typically, a small spa may seat two to six people. A larger design can generally accommodate eight or more. Choosing straight bench seating uses space more efficiently.
We plan jet placement around the seating. This matters because the number of jets affects the pumps, plumbing, and running requirements.
Heating and Running Your Spa
The great thing about heating is that it makes a spa useful all year-round. That said, it is also one of the main running costs. Gas can raise the temperature quickly, which may suit clients who use it only occasionally. A heat pump, on the other hand, usually takes longer to get ready. But it can be more economical if you use the spa regularly.
Whichever option you use, it is worth getting a fitted cover, as it limits heat loss and evaporation when the spa is not in use.
It is worth familiarising yourself with the different pool and spa heating options before choosing the one you want to go with.
Finishes and Design Options
Concrete spa construction allows the finish to match or complement our high-quality pools. Popular options include full tiling, glass beads, and other rendered interiors.

Adding a Spa to Your Pool Build
The easiest and usually most cost-effective time to add a spa is during the initial pool design. The structures, excavation, plumbing, electrical work and heating can then be considered as one pool construction process.
It may be possible to add a spa to an existing pool. However, this requires a detailed site inspection before we can do this.
