Benefits of Concrete Pools

Durability
Concrete pools in Sydney are valued for their impressive strength and durability. They’re engineered to handle heavy usage and extreme weather, making them ideal for Sydney’s changing conditions. Whether it’s scorching summers or heavy rains, the reinforced concrete shell provides a solid foundation that won’t warp, bulge, or lift over time.
Freestyle Pools uses industry-leading construction techniques and materials to ensure each pool exceeds Australian standards. Our commitment to quality means that your pool will remain structurally sound and visually stunning for decades, requiring only routine maintenance and resurfacing every few decades to look brand new.
Lifespan
A properly built and maintained concrete pool can easily last 50 years or more. This makes it one of the most valuable long-term investments you can make for your property. Beyond durability, a concrete pool also adds significant aesthetic and resale value, enhancing your outdoor living space and appealing to future buyers.
Freestyle Pools provides expert guidance on pool care and maintenance, ensuring your investment maintains its value for generations.

FAQs
What areas in Sydney does FreeStyle Pools service?
FreeStyle Pools builds custom concrete, lap, infinity, plunge, and family pools across all of Sydney — including the North Shore, Northern Beaches, Eastern Suburbs, Inner West and Hills District.
What is the process for building a concrete pool with FreeStyle Pools in Sydney?
The process includes an initial consultation and design phase, council or private certifier approvals, excavation, formwork/steel work, plumbing and electrical setup, concrete (often shotcrete) structure, interior finish (tile, pebble, glass, etc.), coping and waterline, fencing and paving, chemical balancing, and final inspection and handover.
What finishes are available for concrete pool interiors and how do they differ?
- Pebblecrete — durable, textured finish and more cost-sensitive.
- Glass beads — smoother surface with a shimmering effect.
- Pebble + glass bead mix — balance between texture and smoothness.
- Fully tiled interiors — premium, smooth aesthetic with longer lifespan.
Do you manage all aspects of the build, or just parts (e.g. concrete only)?
- FreeStyle Pools manages the full spectrum of services: design, council approvals, excavation, concreting, plumbing, electrical, finishing, tiling, coping, interior surfaces, fencing and paving, through to final handover for a turn-key, stress-free build.
How long has FreeStyle Pools been building in Sydney and what makes them different?
FreeStyle Pools is a family-owned business operating since 1992 (over 30 years). The difference is licensed builder and engineering oversight, personalised service (no commission-based sales), transparent quotes, craftsmanship, and capability with challenging sites.
What Approvals Are Needed?
Most concrete pools require council approval before construction can begin. Freestyle Pools takes care of this process on your behalf, managing all required documentation, safety certifications and compliance with New South Wales regulations. Our team handles every technical and administrative detail so that you can enjoy watching your dream pool take shape.
